Cholesterol – The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

Do you even care? Well having a high overall cholesterol level is a high risk health factor and not something that you’d necessarily be aware of if you did.

But cholesterol comes in two different types. LDL (low density lipoproteins) and HDL (High density lipoprotein) The HDL is something we want to be high as this is what is good cholesterol.

A healthy total cholesterol level is less than 200 mg/dL, but many people are walking around with levels much higher than this.

Which is very dangerous.

As this level increases above 200 mg/dL the risk for heart attack increases.

If high blood cholesterol levels goes untreated for an extended period of time, it could be fatal. According to the American Heart Association at www.americanheart.org, cholesterol levels in the blood between 200-239 are considered to be borderline high risk, and levels above 240 mg/dL are high risk.

It is recommended that people over the age of forty-five have their cholesterol level checked every five years or more to find out the total level and the ratio of HDL to LDL.

Now you know what is good cholesterol you need to start finding ways of increasing yours.

Is it important to know a food’s calorie content?

If you have been battling fat all your life, you know that just going on a diet will not solve the problem. Diets may work for a time, but once you stop dieting, the fat piles back on sooner than you can say, “Fat!”

America’s Battle With Weight Loss – Why Are We Fat?

that’s because I know the secret that you don’t if you’re still fighting the losing battle of weight loss. But I’ll make a promise. Seriously, the issue about unhealthy edible manufactured products (notice I didn’t call it food), our general love for this toxic waste and the repercussion of fatter bodies, illness and lower self esteem is a major problem. My personal opinion is that when a child is allowed to become overweight to the point where it is unhealthy, embarrassing and makes life difficult, that’s almost criminal on the pat of the parent. I say this because those fat kids end up as clients in my office or an office somewhere else trying to figure out what went wrong and how to get back to being who they really are instead of a person who ended up on a lifelong weight loss journey. So if you are a parent, pay close attention when I reveal the secret and know that kids can do this too.
